Cigaret Cycle

Recycling cigaret butts.

It is estimated that 4.5 trillion cigarettes are littered globally each year and 30 billion cigarette butts in Greece per year. This toxic plastic pollution which is caused solely by people –not industries- is already leading into a huge environmental and social issue.  

Cigaret buts as well as cigarets are not biodegradable, and it takes years to fully decompose. It is common knowledge that cigaret butts leach toxic chemicals into water and soil as well.  

Bin and recycle them...

Eurohotel is taking responsible measures to ensure that our group will do its part in collecting, raising awareness, and recycling cigaret butts. We are cooperating with CIGARET CYCLE and we are supporting the #gopafree project by having placed special bins in our hotels in order to be used by our guests. After the cigaret butts are collected from the bins, they are being sent to CIGARET CYCLE in order to be recycled and transformed into new industrial products, such as plastic pallets, while the remaining organic materials are repurposed into fertilizers.
